Key Achievements

Appointed as National Logistics Manager for a manufacturing company in South Africa. Set up the national logistics to meet clients needs, whist also reducing costs (Dulux, BP, Shell, Plascon).

  • As Operations Manager, through a CI project, turned around a loss-making contract (-$1000 per week) to making a profit (+$1500 per week).
  • Seconded to a Beverage company, and who had recently implemented a new WMS (Paperless) together with voice picking technology. Had to resolve and settle in both systems through refining processes and system set up. Back to basics
  • Seconded to a Medical Device Company to improve pick efficiencies and pick accuracies (100 000 orders per annum) which are critical due to the supply of key products for eye surgeries. Accuracies increased from 99% to 99.8% and efficiencies improved to meet the KPI of 21 Lines Per Man Hour.
  • Successfully implemented a project plan to transition the outsourced warehouse operation to a 3PL.
  • This involved 30000 sku’s with the transition did not impact the supplies to hospitals and clinics.
  • Designed the transition in 2 phases with support of the 3PL.
  • Had to contend with the manufacturing plant implementing SAP and which resulted in disruption of supplies.
  • The project was kept within budget and there was no disruption to supplies.
